AP Employment Benefits and Privileges

Athletic Ticket Discount -- 20% off on all season tickets in designated areas, call 491-RAMS. Season tickets can be purchased by check, credit card, or payroll deduction.

The Children's Centeris a privately owned and operated facility. The Center offers a program of play and learning activities for children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age. The staff are qualified in child development. A registered nurse is a staff consultant. For more information contact Mary Hamilton (CSUKIDS@Lamar.ColoState.EDU).

Tuition Support for Ourselves -- Full-time APs can take up to 6 hours/credits of course work per academic year. There are a few restrictions (you have to discuss specifics with your supervisor as to whether you get time off from work or can reschedule work to accommodate classes), but the administration supports continuing education. Registration forms are available at the Records counter, Administration Annex, Rm 100, or call 491-4860 to have a form sent to you on campus. 100% appointment: 6 credits 75 - 99% 4 credits 50-74% 3 credits. There is a separate form to fill out for Division of Educational Outreach courses. Those forms are available in Spruce hall, or call 491-5288. Tax regulations requires that all tuition paid by the study privilege program is considered taxable income for courses that are taken by anyone who is post-bachelor degree.

Tuition Support for Our Children and Spouses -- Children and spouse of eligible employees (regular and special appointments of 50% time or greater) can receive a 25% tuition scholarship after acceptance to the University. Check with the Office of Financial Aid about this program. Also, children of APs can apply for Faculty/Staff Scholarships (POC Deb McCune, 491-7765).

Adult Fitness Program is a part of the Department of Health & Exercise Science at South College Gym (491-5081). A variety of programs are offered with the goal of improving cardiovascular fitness, strength, and flexibility. The facilities include an indoor track, pool, weights, and exercise equipment. Faculty and Staff Noon Hour Fitness Program -- The Department of Health and Exercise Science sponsors exercise activities at Moby Gym for University employees from noon to 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Program participants have access to the weight room, the Moby pool, and basketball and racquetball courts. When space is available, you can join an aerobics class. The cost is $75/semester for use of the facilities, a locker, towel, shorts and shirt (you will need to bring your swim suit). So take a break from the walls that surround you, escape the phone, and resist dessert. For Additional information call the department at 491-5081. Student Recreation Center -- Student Recreation Center memberships are available for eligible employees and spouses. Membership privileges include use of all activity areas in the Rec Center, including free group fitness classes, Intramurals, and Sport Clubs activities. Participation in Non-credit Instructional classes, Mind Body classes, cycling, massage therapy, personal training and locker rentals for an additional fee. Memberships are available for a month, semester or year – semester and year rates may be made by payroll deduction. Bookstore Discount (Literary Additions Book Club) -- By purchasing a book ofr $4.99 or more you can be come a member of the Literary Additions Book Club. Subsequent purchases of non-textbooks or supplies will qualify you for a 10% discount. For every $100 spent, you will receive a $10.00 gift certificate. (POC Linda Maestas, 491-3987).

Library -- Reading a book is always a benefit. Use your Identification Card and cruise the Morgan Library (491-1841).

University Club-- To join, pick up an application form, fill it out, and pay $15.00 per month (payroll deduction). The monthly fee entitles members to use of the facilities, a free continental breakfast every morning from 7:00 - 10:00 Monday through Friday, 20% discount at the Aspen Grille, and complementary hors d'oeuvres from 4-6 p.m. on Thursdays (491-5587).

Software Cellar -- Purchase software at a discount (491-7625). Discounts vary with product. You will need to show a valid CSU ID.

University's Employee Assistance Program Coordinator -- The EAP is a free service that is offered to all CSU employees. The EAP is part of EAP Compsych and can be accessed by calling 1-800-497-9133). This number is for personal counseling. Any CSU employee can get up to six free therapy sessions with a counselor in their area. You must be a half to fulltime employee. Staff are available 24-hours a day, 7-days/week for crisis calls, counseling, and referrals. For work-related issues, contact Michele Faris at 491-5900.

Ergonomic Evaluations and Adapted Computing Services -- Assistive Technology Resource Center in the Occupational Therapy Department (491-6258).

Trauma Release Therapy Program. -- The Trauma ReleaseTM treatment program for painful work related condisitons has been available to CSU employees and is a permanent CSU program. This is deep, satisfying, hands-on work done right here on campus. If you want more info or to sign up, call Anida Wartenbe at 970-491-6745 in the department of risk management.

CTSS -- A division of Academic Computing and Networking Services, offers computer training and support services for Colorado State University faculty, staff and students. CTSS operates an all university computer lab in 221 Weber and manages a teaching lab and a multimedia presentation room.

CD-ROM Recording-- CTSS provides CD-ROM recording services. Staff members can help you transfer your files to the CD-ROM recording machine. There is no charge for CSU faculty/staff, however, you must purchase the blank CDs. Blank CDs are available at the Software Cellar (491-7625).

ACNS Shop-- Offers on-site and in-shop computer repair service for Colorado State University departments, faculty, staff, and students. The ACNS shop is located in Room 20 in the basement of the Weber Building, two doors down from the Software Cellar.

E-Mail @ Home -- All employees can have an account on Lamar. With an account and software available for a nominal charge from the Software Cellar, you can be hooked up to the World Wide Web from home a modest $60/year fee. Just call in, log-on, and have fun.

Safe Walk Program -- Campus police through their Community Service Officiers (or CSOs) offer the Safe Walk Program. CSOs are trained civilian employees that offer special services on campus. Escorts to cars, home, dorm room, etc. within a certain boundary are available from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Campus Security Officers: CSUPD (491-6425).

VIPs Program -- Volunteers in Public Schools Program gives us all an opportunity of helping our community. Up to 5 hours/month of administrative leave is possible at any Colorado public school district. We can work and be paid for one hour per week up to 5 hours a month. A good start for us in learning how to help others. (

Facilitator/Mediator -- Where appropriate, the Ombudsman can facilitate communication between parties who find themselves in a dispute. The dispute may be between a student and a faculty or staff member, two or more students, employee and supervisor, or between colleagues.

Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic -- The Department of Human Development and Family Studies. College of Applied Human Sciences -- Colorado State University (491-5991). The Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic at Colorado State University is a service of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program which is housed in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies. Fees are based on a sliding-fee scale determined by gross income. Day and evening appointments are available and the clinic is open year round.
